Life Extension Programmes

SAFE Air is the Royal New Zealand Air Force’s chosen service provider for its life extension programmes of its aircraft fleet.

SAFE Air is currently working with the MOD to carry out life extension work on the RNZAF C130 fleet and has previously completed the same programme on the P-3 Orion aircraft. SAFE Air’s capabilities in this field include fabrication and repair of non Destructive testing processes and removing old tank sealant to be replaced with improved modern materials. Our highly experienced avionics technicians are able to fabricate wiring looms for the life extension programmes of both the P3 Orion and C-130 Hercules, as well as the Seasprite helicopters for both the RNZAF and Royal Australian Air Force.

All work by SAFE Air’s engineers is in accordance with the RNZAF’s maintenance guidelines and our capabilities comply with RNZAF skill set requirements.
