Seasprite SH-2G(I)

SAFE Air inspects, services and overhauls the Royal New Zealand Air Force’s Seasprite helicopters. Our capabilities in this field include phase servicing at 200 flight hours which, following disassembly, encompasses all defect rectification and replacement of parts.

SAFE Air also performs special maintenance instructions and modifications (SMIs), as well as Depot Level Maintenance (DLM) as prescribed, through a comprehensive six-month DLM programme. SAFE Air’s Seasprite engineers are closely supported in all Seasprite capabilities, including non-standard repairs, by SAFE Air’s on-site machine shop, skin bay, elect2016-seaspriteroplating, composite and paint services. Our Seasprite team is capable of carrying out all functional testing, post functional rectification and maintenance.
All SAFE Air mechanical and avionics engineers in this specialised area are RNZAF trained and provide a secondment team to Auckland to assist the RNZAF as required. All work is completed to RNZAF standards, with all health and safety requirements adhered to. We work closely alongside the RNZAF to ensure efficient delivery of the aircraft and provide book and manual amendments.
